I know how easy it is to plan your future around one thing you’re praying will happen. I also know there is still a woman that God has predestined you to become on that journey. That’s why I’m building the rested: a place to hold the hope, keep living and belong.

How we got here.

You all rallied around my story, and God told me to build. Because your story used to be mine, and I want my process and promise to become your hope.
What started as one post quickly became something much bigger.

I was so sure a husband and family would be part of my life… I’ve had baby names picked out since I was 19. Now I’m 42 and perimenopausal, and perpetually single with no hope in sight. Best I can do is try to be happy for the young couples and the new parents and support them the best I can

I have felt each and every one of these! I’m 40, single and don’t have children yet. It took a lot of inner work to re-establish real joy for marriage and babies happening to everyone in my life and not yet for me. 40 was the ultimate threshold I didn’t want to cross, and having to face it single and with no children brought a strange kind of release. I’m finally at a place where I can witness my timeline with curiosity and excitement, rather than dread. But what I find hardest, currently, is finding joy and excitement for my day to day. I’m not ungrateful or depressed….just…..feeling like things are mundane. I’m ready to champion a partner and share experiences. I’m ready to pour into children. I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to do and I’m ready for the next chapter. I feel like I have peace, but no ZEAL! That’s my newest task—to try and find renewed interest in a day to day that is navigated solo. I feel deeply I will have a family—so I’m trying to enjoy this season before it ends 🤍. Thanks for sharing your story. Stirs hope!

Married at 40, pregnant at 41, changing careers at 42, and pulling up a chair for you.

I’m the friend you can pour your heart out to, cry with, pray with, and then text three hours later because you just had a business idea and need someone to tell you if it’s brilliant or mildly unhinged.

I know what it’s like to wait on the thing you want while still having a whole life sitting right in front of you. I’ve waited, pivoted, built businesses, started over, fallen in love later than planned, and learned that God can be doing a lot in your life even when the one thing you’re praying for still hasn’t happened.

That’s why I’m building the rested.
